D140 Families and Community Members,
District 140 is embarking on a strategic planning process where we will be looking at curriculum and instruction, finances, facilities, and all things related to improving the school district. One of the first steps is to get input from the D140 community. I have shared a link to a survey: https://bit.ly/CUSD140Survey. This survey will give you ample opportunity to share your opinion about a variety of aspects concerning our school district. There is also an opportunity to address anything that the survey may not cover.
I have also shared a link infographic about our district: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GJ_AfvNjhqPQlE2XY5D4wKAkk5q7Fswx/view?usp=drive_link. The purpose of the infographic was to promote the positive things about our district and to inform new families. However, you may want to review it prior to filling out the survey as it shares a lot of information about our district of which you may not be aware.
The survey window will close at noon on Friday, October 6. Thanks for sharing your input about our district.

Big Thank you to Mrs. Kingdon for organizing our Davenport Dental Clinic! We had great participation and we are happy we could provide a service to our students and parents!
District 140 has an immediate opening for a District Maintenance Assistant to assist the Director of Building and Grounds in maintaining and improving the district's facilities. Basic knowledge of carpentry or electrical repair or plumbing is a plus. Salary is $21.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on experience. A generous health benefits package is also available. Reading Buddies Program will run from October 3-Nov 10, 2023 at the Eureka Public Library. The program is focused on helping students develop and strengthen reading skills. Link for the flier:

The Eureka Business Association is sponsoring a Touch a Truck Experience on September 8, 2023 from 4:30-6:30 at Davenport Elementary School. It is a FREE event and Kids will be able to meet their local heroes and see the BIG TRUCKS!

The staff at Goodfield and Congerville Elementary Schools will host our Meet the Teacher/Open House Night for our students and families on August 14, 2023, from 4:00pm - 5:45pm
Presentations will take place at the following times in classrooms:
Kindergarten - 4:00-4:45
1st Grade - 4:45 - 5:00
2nd Grade - 5:00-5:15
3rd Grade - 5:15-5:30
4th grade - 5:30-5:45
Students are welcome to bring their supplies, meet their teacher, play on the playground, and tour the school with their families! All are welcome!
The Transportation Department is in need of a bus monitor for the Early Childhood route. The age range for this class is 3-5 years old (a very fun age range to work with!). This route runs from 10:45-1:00 M-F. Contact Ken Scharf at 467-5739 or apply online at District140.org.
